Asked about the addition of these new members, Penn State Head Coach Justin Hundley, said "it’s exciting to add more high caliber competition to an already strong conference. The additional matches will provide opportunities for our team to grow through tough tests week in and week out." Additionally, Hundley noted that "this partnership will also help to grow the game in our area. It’s more exposure in additional areas on the East Coast. We are excited for the challenge and the expansion."

Dr. Gregg Jones, Head Coach at Kutztown University, added that "[this expansion] challenges every team to be at the top of their game. Not only on game day but with every aspect of their program, from preparation, recruiting, and resilience to coaching and management. This level of commitment can only enhance our program."

These new programs bring four national championships and numerous appearences in national playoffs from various levels over the last 6 years and hope to further elevate the level of competition of Rugby East.

Mount St. Mary's University Director of Rugby, Jay Myles, offered that this move is an incredible opportunity for their program. "We will be playing in the toughest conference in the country against extremely well-respected programs who are known for their exceptional play. Every weekend will be a difficult test. We are really looking forward to challenging ourselves to elevate our program to another level."

Additionally, Scott Zavrel will assume the role as Conference Commissioner, a position he previously held for the Chesapeake Collegiate Rugby Conference.
